TURN DOWN THE VOLUME POTENTIOMETER BEFORE TURNING OFF THE AMPLIFIER!
In our projects we do not use veneers that are thin, unreliable and, above all, not resistant to damage!
We use only the highest quality veneers,  i.e. wood sheets of 3-5mm thickness. Thanks to this solution and the bonding technology we have developed, our products are equipped with durable and beautiful enclosures.

Description

Akai AM 2200 amplifier. Akai AT 2200 tuner. Classic Vintage. Fully revitalized.

Akai was founded by Masukichi Akai and his son, Saburo Akai in 1929 in Tokyo. The word “Akai” in Japanese means “red”, which of course found a reference in the color of the brand’s logo. In the 1940s, the company produced music and audio equipment. The expanding range of the company included originally reel-to-reel tape recorders, cassette recorder, audio amplifiers, video cassette recorder and speakers, followed by CD, DVD and mp3 players. Some of the products were sold in the United States under the brand of Roberts, A & D in Japan and Tensai and Transonic Strato in Western Europe. At the end of the 1960s, Akai and Tandberg introduced an innovative way of recording sound that allowed recording a wider range of high frequencies. In 1984, a new branch of the company called Akai Professional was created, producing electronic musical instruments. However, in the 90s, the company reduced its range of Hi-Fi equipment. At the end of 2004, Akai Corporation was taken over by Grande Group and Akai Professional by Numark Industries due to bankruptcy.

Akai AM 2200 is an amplifier produced in the early 70s, distinguished by a very warm and soft sound and a simple, classic front panel. Thanks to high-quality components and solutions (and mostly, despite its small size!), this model is characterized by very good technical parameters. The Akai AM 2200 amplifier was recommended as a set with the Akai AT 2200 tuner, considered a good-class commercial radio receiver. Akai AT 2200 is an analog tuner manufactured in the mid-70s in Japan, distinguished by top quality and very good sensitivity. The simple, yet sophisticated design characteristic of the Akai brand is another visible advantage.

New, enlarged enclosures have been fully revitalized, made from American walnut wood. The wood finishing is Chinese oil produced from natural oils, and natural turpentine-based beeswax. The devices have been fully reviewed and serviced, they were given new aluminium legs.

New white illumination of the front panel of the tuner.

Collector’s models. The devices are in perfect condition!
