Description

Daniel G-1100 fs turntable. Fully revitalised.

In 1958, the Association of the Electronic Industry and the Association of the Teletechnical Industry were created in Warsaw, and became part of the Ministry of Heavy Industry. Three years later, the two units were merged to form the Association of the Electronic and Teletechnical Industry UNITRA, and in 1971 after the separation of the Industrial Group of Light Sources Polam and the Association of the Teleelectronic Industry Telkom, the name of the organization was changed again, this time to the Association of the Electronic Industry Unitra, and the “Unitra” prefix was added to all of its enterprises – (e.g. Unitra-Eltra). Within Unitra there were many factories throughout Poland, including: Diora, Tonsil, Radmor, Polkolor and Fonica. Another division of the organization took place in 1978, when The Association of Electronic Components and Materials Industry Unitra-Elektron (associating factories producing electronic components and professional equipment) and the Association of the Electronic Industry Unitra-Dom (associating factories producing consumer electronics) were created. In January 1982, the associations of Unitra -Elektron and Unitra-Dom were terminated, but in May of the same year, at the request of the directors of enterprises, 30 founding units formed the Association of Electronic Industry Enterprises UNITRA. However, due to political changes of 1989 it was also liquidated. The individual enterprises that became independent tried to keep afloat, but with various effects. Many of them went bankrupt. UNITRA Foreign Trade Enterprise founded in 1973, has been operating until today, currently as Unitra Trading Company S.A. it offers headphones, loudspeakers and gramophone accessories.

The Daniel G-1100 fs model was manufactured by Fonica. The turntable uses a belt drive and independent suspension of the platter with an arm on a cushioned support, as well as a modern drive for those times, which enabled the reduction of vibration and coupling of acoustic vibrations. Another innovation was the use of very fashionable backlit touch sensors instead of the function selection buttons. The Daniel turntable belongs to the Polish hi-end equipment of the 70s, although the Mf-100 or Mf-101 cartridges pre-mounted to it did not provide adequate sound quality. Therefore, in the presented model we have inserted the Shure M44 MB cartridge with the Shure stylus, which provides a wide music scene and beautifully brings out every detail.

The device has been fully reviewed and serviced.
