Description

Designer lamp from the 90s, Jan des Bouvrie. Classic Vintage.

Jan des Bouvrie (born August 3, 1942 in Naarden) is a popular Dutch architect, interior and applied arts designer, best known for his ‘kubusbank’ sofa from 1969, today considered a classic design. In addition, he runs his own company, is an academic teacher, and his name has been given to the design school at Deventer.

The core of his work is the symmetry and the desire to reduce objects to the simplest form – “Never forget the basics”.

A beautiful, decorative lamp from the turn of the 80s and 90s made of stainless steel. Five small, glass, milky shades in the shape of ‘goblets’ give a very warm, cozy light regulated by a dimmer.

The lamp has been stripped of old coatings and then painted using automotive wet painting technique. White and lilac varnishes have been used and secured with transparent matt finish. The lamp has also gained a new jute braided power cable and a vintage plug.
