Jamo 50 loudspeakers. Classic Vintage. Fully revitalized.
In 1966, in the fishing village of Glyngore in Denmark, carpenter Preben Jacobsen began building loudspeakers in his henhouse. Two years later, he invited his brother-in-law Julius Mortensen to join the company. The brand name – JAMO was created as a combination of the first two letters of their names (Jacobsen + Mortensen). In 1973, the company debuted at the IFA International Consumer Electronics Fair in Berlin, which marked the start of its dynamic development and sales increase. By 1978, JAMO had produced one million JAMO speakers. In 1997, the Concert 8 was recognized as the best European speaker of the year. Over time, Jamo entered the segment of complete audio solutions due to its launch of the world’s first DVD receiver that came with the option to play divx format with progressive scanning. However, it is the speakers that have remained the main domain of Jamo until today. And in terms of design, the company still adheres to its Scandinavian roots.
Despite their medium size, the Jamo 50 loudspeakers surprise with a wide range of natural sound and detailed music scene characterized by impressive dynamics. Since the speakers accurately reflect the original, multidimensional arrangement of a recording together with the richness of all details and nuances, the listener can feel like being in a studio or at a concert.
The enclosures have been completely revitalized. Exotic merbau wood, adds amazing charm to the set. High quality finishing screws. Grill cloth made of high quality acoustic fabric. The wood finish is Chinese oil produced from natural oils. The wood is extremely nice to the touch. Practical strings made of natural leather, attached to the grill allow free removal and placing the grills in place.
