Kenwood company was established in Japan in 1946 as Kasuga Radio Co. Ltd. In 1960 the company was renamed Trio Corporation. In 1963 the first overseas office was founded in Los Angeles County, California, USA. The name Kenwood was invented by Kasuga as being the combination of “Ken”, a name common to Japan and North America, and an English word “Wood”, as well as suggesting a relation to Hollywood, California. The company was supposed to be the exclusive importer of Trio products in USA. The brand recognition of Kenwood eventually surpassed that of Trio’s, and in 1986 Trio bought Kenwood and renamed itself Kenwood. Kenwood merged with JVC in 2008 as JVC Kenwood and is currently one of the JVCKENWOOD Corporation brands. The Kenwood brand is famous for its production of car audio equipment, home hi-fi, CB radios and walkie-talkies. In addition, it is in no way related to the British home appliances manufacturer, Kenwood Ltd.

The KH-31 are headphones designed by Kenwood engineers in order to accurately convey the authentic quality of sound in all its dimensions. The specially developed speaker used in this model has an ultra low frequency, thanks to which it can naturally reproduce heavy bass. In addition, the original “opened back” system enables long listening without any fatigue or discomfort. Kenwood advertised KH-31 with the slogan “make stereo listening an absolute joy.”

The pads were cleaned with specialized formulations, and then properly moisturized and protected with a lotion based on lanolin, aloe, beeswax and Carnauba wax.

Specially designed and hand-made solid headphone stand. The material is high quality solid beech wood, covered with Chinese oil produced from natural oils, which gives the stands a beautiful look and makes them very pleasant to the touch. At the top of the stand, the headband rests on a lining made of natural leather, felt pads have been affixed to the base to prevent furniture scratches.
