Description

Kenwood KR 6600 Stereo Receiver. Oak Wood Case.

Kenwood company was established in Japan in 1946 as Kasuga Radio Co. Ltd. In 1960 the company was renamed Trio Corporation. In 1963 the first overseas office was founded in Los Angeles County, California, USA. The name Kenwood was invented by Kasuga as being the combination of “Ken”, a name common to Japan and North America, and an English word “Wood”, suggesting a relation to Hollywood, California. The company was supposed to be the exclusive importer of Trio products in USA. The brand recognition of Kenwood eventually surpassed that of Trio’s, and in 1986 Trio bought Kenwood and renamed itself Kenwood. Kenwood merged with JVC in 2008 as JVC Kenwood and is currently one of the JVCKENWOOD Corporation brands. The Kenwood brand is famous for its production of car audio equipment, home hi-fi, CB radios and walkie-talkies. In addition, it is in no way related to the British home appliances manufacturer, Kenwood Ltd.

KR 6600 is the first best model of the cult series of KR receivers from the 70s. It has got a lot of features in timbre setting.

The biggest fans of this model write: “It sounds as beautiful as it looks”

It is worth noting that the KR-6600 has a design that is very typical for the brand. Beautiful large and balanced tuning knobs. The silver front panel with a large black display has been interestingly highlighted in amber-green color, and the station selection indicator is marked by a strong red light compared to the “ball of fire” by its fans. The metal elements of the case were sandblasted and powder coated, fired at high temperature. The Oak Wood Case, made of oak wood, is included in the set. Wood finish is made with Chinese oil produced of natural oils. The wood feels nice to touch.
