Koss PRO 4 AA headphones. Classic Vintage. Stand included in the price.

In 1953, John C. Koss founded a company offering TV sets rental for hospitals, five years later, together with Martin Lange, he created the SP/3 – world’s first stereo headphones and at the same time he established the Koss Corporation. Already in the 60s, the company was very successful in terms of marketing. In 1966, Koss reacted quickly to the market needs by launching the Koss Beatlephone headphones carrying images of the Beatles members. The company also boasted its Pro-4 model that was mounted on board the Air Force One. In the 70s, when Koss moved to a new factory, where testing the equipment became one of the key areas, more promotional campaigns were launched. The company increased its production simultaneously increasing the emphasis on its quality. In addition, in 1989, it introduced the Lifetime Limited Warranty Policy, further building confidence in the brand. A year later, Koss introduced the ESP / 950 electrostatic headphones, and in 1993 the QZ / 1000, a special noise-reducing model.

In the 90s, the company was taken over by the sons of John C. Koss, who kept introducing new innovations, extended the product range and took care of the highest quality.

PRO 4AA are the first dynamic headphones presented by Koss in 1970. Since then this model has set the standard for professional headphones, providing full-range sound with incredible isolation.

The popularity of the PRO 4AA was so great that after ending the production in the late 80s, Koss quickly decided to re-introduce the model  to the market. In this way, it was continued to be used as basic studio headphones in radio stations and recording studios. Looking at the extremely solid and reliable construction of the PRO 4AA (especially its headband with ear muffs attached to it with solid metal elements), it could be perfectly suitable for the air force, for which Koss also has a special offer. This model has a closed structure, which is the most popular among professionals, as it separates the recording engineer from surrounding noises.

The headphones offer a very rich and detailed soundstage. Midrange and treble dominate, without stifling bass, so that the listener can truly appreciate vocals, especially in jazz or soul.

Old pads have been replaced with properly selected substitutes made of eco leather, which were moisturized and protected with a balm based on lanolin, aloe, beeswax and Carnauba wax.

Included in the set are specially designed and hand-made solid headphone stands. The material is plywood varnished using the automotive wet painting technique, which gives the stands a beautiful look and makes them very pleasant to the touch. Felt pads have been affixed to the base to prevent furniture scratches.
