Description

Siemens RS 203 Electronic Receiver. Classic Vintage.

The inventor and engineer Werner von Siemens in 1847 founded in Berlin the Siemens & Halske company, which a year later built the first long distance telegraph line between Berlin and Frankfurt am Main. In 1866, a DC generator invented by Siemens was used to generate electricity that powered the world?s first electric street lighting in Great Britain. In 1903, two departments were established in Siemens AG: one producing low-current devices and the other producing high-current ones. In the 20s, the company started to produce radio receivers and TV sets, and at the turn of 1933 and 1934 it reached the fourth position among the leaders of German audio market. During World War II, most of Siemens production was dedicated to the needs of the army, but soon after the war finished the company quickly returned to producing radio receivers, and in 1958, in order to manage this production, Siemens-Elektrogeräte GmbH was established. The current activity of Siemens AG is focused on such business areas as information and telecommunications, energy, transport, lighting, automation, medicine, education, finance, and real estate.
