Description

WHD Hi-Fi Box 70K loudspeakers. Classic Vintage.

In 1930, Wilhelm Huber founded a precision mechanics workshop and radio receivers distribution in Deisslingen (Germany). The trade fair in Berlin in 1939 turned out to be a breakthrough for the company, since it received a large order for the construction of speakers and 10,000 receivers.

After World War II, Huber managed to maintain the company (4 employees) thanks to the production of lighters and fuel tanks. In 1948, after the introduction of the Deutsche Mark, the son of the owner Gerhard joined the company. The production of speakers was also resumed. The company could grow also thanks to the production and distribution of components for audio devices. In 1955, Huber’s second son, Hermann, joined the company.

At the beginning of the 70s, as a supplier of coils and transformers, the company began to cooperate with the gramophone industry developing in the Black Forest (Saba, Dual). At the end of the 70s, two more buildings were built for the production and storage of hi-fi speakers. The company increased its staff to 200 employees and the product range was also expanded. In 1972, Gerhard and Hermann became the official co-owners, and the company name was changed to Wilhelm Huber + Söhne. In the 80s, the company focused on the production of high-class indoor sound systems which can be found in many prestigious locations around the world (e.g. JFK airport in New York). Currently, WHD is famous for its great sound system solutions, which are appreciated both for their technology and design. The company is now managed by the third generation of Hubers.

The WHD Hi-Fi Box 70K loudspeakers manufactured in the 1970s are characterized by a wide music scene, as well as an extremely powerful bass, which is provided by a woofer with a diameter of 21 centimeters.

The enclosures have been completely revitalized. Exotic acajou wood adds incredible charm to the speakers. The wood finish is Chinese oil produced from natural oils. The wood is very nice to the touch. The grills are made of mesh, stripped of old coatings and painted.

The set is 100% functional, the speakers are in perfect condition.
