Description

Yamaha R 300 Stereo Receiver. Natural Sound Stereo Receiver. HI-FI Classic Vintage.
Completely revitalized.

In 1887 Torakusu Yamaha built his first keyboard wind instrument. Ten years later Torakusu established Nippon Gakki Co. Ltd. and produced pianos and reed organs, which were  rewarded in 1904 with Honorary Main Reward at the World Fair in Saint Louis. In the following years, the company extended its offer  of musical instruments and produced pianos, acoustic guitars, trumpets, percussions, electric guitars, etc. The company also began to produce audio equipment. The first turntables were created in the 1920s, but especially valued hi-fi devices (mainly amplifiers and CD players) and high-quality loudspeakers that complemented them were created in the 70’s and 80’s. In 1955, as the Yamaha Motor Company, the company also dealt with the production of two-wheelers, and from the early 70’s, professional sound equipment currently known as Yamaha Pro Audio.

The R 300 model was described by the manufacturer as sophisticated. It has been equipped with a potentiometer to boost high and low tones (not a button, like in many other receivers), which gives the possibility of smooth adjustment and adjusting the settings to the preferences of the listener (from very soft to alto sound). Warm tones quite characteristic of this model distinguish it from other sterile sounding Yamaha devices. It is worth noting that the R 300 is an excellent alternative to Sansui from the 70s and NAD from the 80s due to similar, high sound quality.

The case has been fully revitalized, is made of Canadian maple wood, the potentionometers are in perfect condition.  The mesh in the housing has been cleaned of  old paint coatings and painted. New side boards made of doussie wood make the set elegant and refined. The front panel is made of aluminum. Beautifully highlighted scale, no re-tuning required. The device has been completely checked and serviced.

Collector’s model in perfect condition!
